You pull forth the bedrock of the earth from the ground, sending it striking towards your foes in the shape of great fanged snake heads.
Choose up to three creatures within range. Each creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure a creature takes 4d8 piercing damage, and is grappled and knocked prone. A grappled creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check to break the grapple.
On a success a creature takes half as much damage and suffers no other effects.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you can choose one additional creature for each level above 3rd.
